More than 50% of UCSD students may be eligible for CalFresh โ most just don't know it yet. Takes 2 minutes.
100% private โ no personal data collected
Have you recently gotten a letter saying your CalFresh benefits are changing or ending?
Federal rules changed in April 2026 for some groups. If that's you, we'll show you what's still available at UCSD right away.
You're not alone โ UCSD still has your back ๐
Changes to federal immigration rules (H.R. 1, April 2026) ended CalFresh for refugees, asylees, parolees, and some other groups. It's deeply unfair. But California created state-funded alternatives and The Hub has resources for you โ no questions asked.
Which of these best describes your situation?
This helps us match you to the right programs. The Hub keeps everything confidential โ your info cannot be shared with immigration enforcement.
Are you under 22 and living with your parents or guardians?
If yes, you'd apply together with them as one household โ not on your own.
How many units are you enrolled in this quarter?
UC students taking 6+ units in any degree program are automatically cleared โ no extra hoops needed. This surprises a lot of Tritons!
How many people are in your household?
Household = people who live AND shop/cook together. Most UCSD students who buy their own food = household of 1, even in dorms.
What is your household's monthly income before taxes?
Include wages and some financial aid โ not loans or work-study. Enter 0 if you have no income. Even if it looks high, deductions for rent and utilities often bring it under the limit!
Enter your income above to see the limit for your household size.
Do you have a mandatory unlimited dining plan on campus?
On-campus residents required to have unlimited dining (more than 10.5 meals/week) are typically not eligible. Off-campus and commuter students โ this rule does not apply to you.
